Loading Tunes to Your X-Calibrator 2

There are essentially two different ways our customer may program their XCal2 after we send them a new tune via e-mail. Either they can use Live Load 3 or Extreme Tune, both programs that are available at www.sctflash.com. On SCT's main page you will go to Support (on their menu) and then to the subheading Downloads and Drivers. For the use of either program the customer will also need to download the drivers for their computer which are located on the same page: http://www.sctflash.com/downloads.php.

For Loading Using Live Load 3:

You will need to install Live Load 3 and the drivers for your computer.

Also you will need to move these tune files which were received by e-mail to your desktop or another readily accessible area of your computer.

When you have all that accomplished connect your XCal2 to the computer via USB cable and start the Live Load 3 program. It will ask you to confirm that the XCal is connected and at the main menu screen. When you get to the main screen of the Live Load program you will see your three slots for custom tunes. You will need to select the slot that you want to load the new tune into and then click the browse for the tune that you want to use. At this point you will click Add File. After it finishes loading the tuner you can repeat the process to load more tunes or exit the program if that was the only tune needed.

At this point you should be ready to take the XCal2 tuner and reflash your computer on the vehicle.

For Loading Using Extreme Tune:

You will need to install Extreme Tune and the drivers for your computer.

Also you will need to move these tune files which were received by e-mail to your desktop or another readily accessible area of your computer.

When you have all that accomplished connect your XCal2 to the computer via USB cable and start the Extreme Tune program. When you get to the main screen of the Extreme Tune program you will see your three slots for custom tunes. You can click the “...” button to browse for the tune you want to be loaded to the tuner, and then you can click the “Customize” button to make changes to the tune if desired. After the changes are made and accepted, you can click the “Program Xcal2” to program the tuner.

After the tuner finishes, you should be ready to take the XCal2 tuner and reflash your computer on the vehicle.

Note: Errors sometimes occur during loading, for different reasons. Either the computer has other process running or other various reasons. Do not be discouraged. In most cases, all that is needed to is to re-try to programming stage, although you may have to close the program and make your changes and such be re-trying the loading.
